The number one reason people are failing on social is because they are playing the short game. So many people are running after the number of likes and number of followers when the whole narrative of content is different. You’ve got to create good content, that’s it. The likes, the saves, the impressions, the insights are all part of short game.
The mobile phone in your hand is far more powerful than the computer that Ronald Reagan used. If you’re not using social, if you’re not active on social, you’ve already lost. You’ve lost big time. How many people here believe that Snapchat was a hoax? How many of you out there said Snapchat is not meant for you and it’s only a small game? And how many of you have snapchat accounts now? How many of you are not using tik tok just because you feel it’s meant for teenagers? This world right now is having underpriced attention. Internet today has created an era where anyone can throw anyone out of business.. and it’s for fact.
If you came here to read about the quick fix to grow your business, if you thought you’d buy some followers and likes, you’ve lost. Business growth is all about putting in the work. Your social needs as much work as your main business. Social engagement needs work, tonnes of work. You’ve to put in the hours, going to social media posts in your locality and dropping that positive comment in the section. 97% people won’t buy into you, but 3% would. And out of those three one might just dm you to offer the services you’re offering in your bio. The game is long. It’s a long game. And if you’re looking for shortcuts, if you’re looking to buy your followers and likes, this is not for you. The social is not for you.
You’re a real estate agent and you’ve “I sell homes” in your bio. Go search the hot properties in search and then click on places, find the most recent and top posts and leave comments on 90 posts, and when I say comments, I don’t mean you typing out like a bot.. “nice”. You’ve to consume someone’s content to get them to pay attention to yours. 90% people on social don’t have engagement because that’s how algorithm is. And when you go in someone’s social, and leave a comment there, they are coming back to your account. They might like yours or they might not, but they are coming back to yours. And someone who’s looking to buy a home might just send you a dm.
Social is a long game and unless you’re spending 3-4hrs daily on it. Going and talking to people, Business won’t scale on social. You don’t have to pretend to be Zucks. If you do that, you’d be delusional about how many likes you should be getting and that in the macro will create depression in you. You’ve to apply tactics and deploy patience on all platforms. Be it twitter, Snapchat, facebook or Instagram. And run ads, the attention has never been so so underpriced.
